Hotels & Villas     Where is Kalkan?

Hotels & Villas

The tourist season in Kalkan runs from April to October each year. It can get very hot in this part of the world (well in excess of 40 degrees Celsius / 104 degrees Fahrenheit) during mid season. If, like many tourists from cooler Countries, you are not used to the heat, try visiting us at either the beginning or end of the season when it is more bearable but still nice and hot!
There are many types and standards of accommodation available in Kalkan, from the Deluxe and the not so grand Hotels, through to self catering apartments and pansiyons. Obviously tour operators give details of all accommodation included within their package however, we have included a small selection within this site for your information. If you decide on a holiday without utilising the services of a package tour operator, you will find that Kalkan has no shortage of very reasonably priced places in which to eat (in excess of 150 at the last count).

Where is Kalkan?

Where are we ?

We are located in the small harbour town of Kalkan, Antalya, Turkey. We have been operating in Kalkan since 1993 and were the first diving operator to have a business in the town. Our office is located in the row of shops along the edge of the harbour along from the yacht club. Although we have an office (which is normally open between 7pm & 11pm), if you find the office closed, look out for our dive boat moored in the harbour where you can usually find a member of staff aboard.

Where is Kalkan ?

Kalkan is approximately 2 hrs from Dalaman Airport and 3 hrs from Antalya Airport, most package tour operators include a coach transfer within the price of the holiday. If you have arranged your own flight and accommodation you will also need to consider either hiring a car or at least arranging some transport. You can obtain further details about airport transfers etc. from us. Please contact us....

The small historic town of Kalkan is an enchanting place and one of the most beautiful locations along Turkey's gorgeous Lycian Coast, with a complete absence of mass tourism. Kalkan, situated in the Antalya region of Turkey, remains a charming and unspoiled haven of lush nature, brilliant blue crystal-clear sea, historic architecture, ancient history and warm traditional Turkish hospitality.

Kalkan borders on the idyllic, a village of a couple of thousand, far enough away from the main resort areas to be inaccessible to those who don't want to travel more than 45 minutes from the airport, but still reachable in 2 hours from Dalaman and less than 2 from Antalya. The road in each direction is fairly pretty anyway and as long as your transfer is air conditioned you'll enjoy the ride. The delights of the Xanthos valley are 20 minutes away to the west and these include the 15km of sand at Patara as well as the Lycian ruins scattered between Tlos and the coast.

There's no shortage of accommodation in around the harbour and a little further afield, rooms are available in most price categories ranging from simple pansiyons to the more upmarket hotels like the Patara Prince and Kalkan Regency. Kalkan lacks sandy beaches in the village itself but with Patara 15 minutes away and regular transport services to the nearest beaches you won't have difficulty finding your place in the sun.
